Comprehensive Project for Collection and Final Disposal of Municipal Solid Waste in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora

Background

The city is faced with critical problems in terms of the management of its municipal solid waste, from street cleaning to the collection and final disposal of municipal solid waste.

Description

With this two-phase project, the city of Puerto Peñasco plans to:

• Construct and equip a new sanitary landfill;
• Purchase new trucks to ensure timely and continuous collection
  services;
• Close the existing open air dump;
• Strengthen the institutional capacity of the municipal administration
  in terms of waste collection and disposal to facilitate efficient
  system management and operation.
