Projects may receive a CAP grant for no more than 90% of the project costs with a maximum of US$750,000. The project sponsor must cover at least 10% of the total project cost in the form of cash or provide evidence of funds expended for purposes of achieving the scope of the proposed project.

The project sponsor must hire qualified construction oversight services. These costs may be included in the total project budget and are eligible for CAP funding.

CAP funding may be provided as a non-reimbursable grant or as part of a financing package that combines a grant with a loan. The funding structure will be determined based on the characteristics of the applicant and the population that will benefit from the project.

Once CAP funding is approved, the grant agreement must be signed within three months. Project implementation must begin within six months after the grant agreement is executed.
